What is an Apostille and when do I need one?

An Apostille is a form of authentication issued to documents for use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961. If your document is going to be used abroad, and the country is a member of the Hague Convention, you will need an Apostille.

Document legalisation is necessary if you intend to use UK-issued documents overseas and the country where you’ll use them requires it. This process certifies the authenticity of the signature, the capacity in which the person signing the document acted, and identifies the seal/stamp which the document bears.

It all depends on the service level you choose, where you are located and if any extra steps (like embassy attestation) are required.
