What is UAE Embassy Attestation?
UAE embassy attestation is a stage that happens once your document has already been through UK legalisation. It starts with a physical FCDO apostille, then moves into digital attestation by UAE embassy officials and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). It’s what turns a standard UK document into paperwork the UAE will actually accept.
What it confirms
It confirms the document has completed the required legalisation chain. It does not verify the document's contents.
i Any further step requested by an employer, university, ministry or other authority inside the UAE is separate unless confirmed in your order.
- The complete route
The complete UAE document legalisation route from the UK
Your document will begin on one of three possible UK routes, depending on what type of paper it is and who issued it originally. From there, every path folds into the same next steps: a physical apostille, followed by digital attestation by UAE embassy and MoFA officials.
Choose the UK starting route
1. Government-issued original
Birth, marriage, death, ACRO and eligible official documents
✓ Usually no certification2. Solicitor certification
Copies, ID and academic documents where certification is required
Solicitor → apostille3. Notary certification
Powers of attorney, affidavits and other signed documents
Notary → apostillei Solicitor and notary are alternative preparation routes — most documents do not need both.
