The basics, explained

What is a
Saudi Arabia Apostille?

It’s the official certificate the UK Legalisation Office (FCDO) attaches to your document so it’s recognised abroad. It confirms the signature, seal or stamp is genuine — it does not verify the contents. An apostille is how you legalise documents in the UK for overseas use, and it’s usually added to papers like birth certificates, marriage certificates, court documents or company documents.
An apostille is valid in countries that follow the Hague Apostille Convention. Most people need one for work, study, marriage, business or legal matters overseas — wherever the receiving authority asks for a UK document to be legalised. If your document is headed to a country not in the Hague Convention, we also handle embassy legalisation, so your papers are valid wherever you need to use them.

Good to know

An apostille is accepted in Hague Convention countries. Some destinations also need embassy attestation afterwards — we'll tell you if yours does.

Some documents need certification first — or attestation after

If your document needs solicitor or notary certification before the apostille, or embassy legalisation for a country outside the Hague Convention afterwards, we arrange every required stage and confirm the complete route before work begins. Solicitor certification is included in apostille pricing for all eligible documents.

How long does the Standard Apostille take?
Our Standard Apostille is a 3 working-day apostille service, measured from when your document is received and checked, plus delivery time. Official FCDO processing can take up to 28 days, but as a registered partner we handle most cases far faster. For an urgent deadline, our Express Apostille is a next day apostille service where eligible and received by the 10 a.m. cut-off.
FCDO apostille handling and the return of your document by tracked delivery. Solicitor certification is included in the apostille pricing for all eligible documents. Prices start from £95 — your final apostille UK price depends on the document type, format, destination and any certification required, and we confirm it before processing.
An apostille is an official certificate attached to a UK document by the UK Legalisation Office (FCDO) so it can be recognised overseas. It proves the document is genuine and comes from a trusted authority, confirming the signature, seal or stamp — not the contents. Once a document has an apostille, it can be used in other Hague Convention countries without extra checks.
An apostille is the standard route for documents used in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention. Acceptance always depends on the destination country and the receiving authority, which is why we confirm the correct route before processing. If your destination is not in the Hague Convention, you’ll need embassy legalisation instead — which we also handle.
For most UK government-issued documents, yes — the original is usually required. We can process originals or certified copies, and a passport is not required for apostille-only services. For copies and ID documents, a solicitor-certified copy is normally used instead. We confirm exactly what to send before processing.
Often, yes — but the copy usually needs solicitor certification before the FCDO will issue an apostille. We confirm whether a certified copy is acceptable for your document and destination before processing.
Some documents need solicitor or notary certification before the apostille to prove they are genuine — for example a power of attorney or an affidavit often needs a notary’s stamp. Solicitor certification is included in our apostille pricing for eligible documents; if a document needs notarisation instead, we’ll advise you and arrange it as part of the same order, confirming the cost before any work begins.
Degrees, diplomas and transcripts often need certification before the apostille, depending on the document format and destination. Whether you need an apostille degree certificate UK or a transcript legalised, we confirm the correct route before processing.
It depends on the format. Official Companies House documents — such as a certificate of incorporation or certificate of good standing — can usually go straight to apostille, while board resolutions, contracts and commercial documents may need solicitor or notary certification first. We confirm before processing.
If your destination country is outside the Hague Convention, you’ll need embassy legalisation instead of an apostille. Some destinations — including the UAE, Qatar, China, Egypt, Kuwait and others — require an embassy or consular attestation step after the apostille. The process can be more involved, but we manage everything to guarantee smooth acceptance of your document.

Yes. Sometimes a certified translation is needed to make sure the document is accepted by the FCDO or the country it is going to. If you need a translation, we can arrange it as part of the apostille process.

Yes — you can get electronic documents apostilled if they meet the rules set by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). An e-Apostille is a digital version of a regular apostille certificate; it is just as official as a paper apostille but easier for online submissions, and works in Hague Convention countries that accept this format.
Apostille certifications usually do not expire — they prove a document was genuine when it was certified. However, some countries set their own time limits or ask for more recent documents, so always check what the destination country requires.
Yes. The FCDO can reject documents that do not meet its rules — for example if a document is not properly notarised, is in the wrong format, or is missing important stamps or seals. To help you avoid this, we give clear guidance and check your document is correct before it is submitted.

Yes. Several documents can be processed together, and we offer discounts when you legalise more than one document — ideal for businesses or anyone with several documents to legalise at once. Tell us how many you have and their destination, and we’ll confirm the total cost before processing.

Yes — tell us your document type and destination country and we’ll confirm the correct route before you pay for anything. You can also call us on +44 20 8004 8838.
