What Comes Back to You
One Document, Fully Legalised for Malaysia
Malaysia doesn’t accept a digital signature or an e-apostille on its own for this; it wants to see it on paper. Once the UK FCDO apostille is complete and the Malaysia High Commission attestation is physically attached, we send your original back to you by secure, tracked delivery, ready to be handed over the moment you need it in Malaysia.
The Malaysia stage, explained
What Is Malaysia Embassy Attestation?
It’s easy to hear “attestation” and assume it’s just another stamp. It isn’t quite that simple, so here’s the honest, plain answer: Malaysia Embassy Attestation is the final authentication stage, and it comes after your UK legalisation is already done. Your document first needs a physical UK FCDO apostille, and only then does the Malaysia High Commission in London add its own physical attestation stamp to that same document.
What it actually confirms
It tells Malaysian authorities that your legalised document is genuine and can be relied on - nothing more, nothing less - but that's exactly what gets your paperwork accepted.
Commonly needed for:
i Any further step requested by an employer, university, ministry or other authority inside Malaysia is separate unless confirmed in your order.

Malaysia Embassy Attestation: Your Questions, Answered
Which UK documents typically need attestation of documents in Malaysia?
More than people expect, honestly. Birth, marriage, and death certificates come up constantly, along with degrees, powers of attorney, and company paperwork. If you need a Malaysian embassy birth certificate sorted, that’s one of the most common requests we get, so you’re in good company. Not sure about yours? Just tell us what it is.
Does Malaysia accept a UK apostille on its own, or is something else needed too?
Not on its own, no. A UK apostille confirms the document at the UK end, but Malaysia isn’t a country that stops there; it also wants its own High Commission stamp added before the document is considered valid on its side.
Is Malaysia attestation a physical stamp, or can it be done digitally?
Physical, every time. However quick or modern everything else feels these days, Malaysia still wants an actual stamp and signature on your original document; no digital-only version is accepted.
Do I need a solicitor or notary involved before the apostille stage?
Sometimes, yes. It depends on what you’re sending. A birth or marriage certificate usually skips straight to apostille, but things like powers of attorney or affidavits usually need a notary’s signature first. We’ll tell you which applies before you do anything.
Realistically, how long does the whole process take?
Most documents are done in 7–10 working days, covering the full legalisation of documents in Malaysia from the first UK stage through to the final stamp. If your document needs extra steps, we’ll flag that upfront rather than let it surprise you halfway through.
What should I actually expect to pay?
It depends on where your document is starting from. If it already has a UK apostille, you’re looking at attestation-only pricing from £50. If it needs the full route, apostille and all, that starts from £140. Either way, you’ll know the exact number before you commit to anything.
Do my documents need to be translated into Malay?
Not usually for the UK side of things. But once your document lands in Malaysia, some authorities do ask for a certified Malay translation depending on what it’s being used for; we can sort that too if it comes up.
Can you manage the Malaysia embassy attestation from start to finish?
Yes, that’s really the point of using us rather than juggling it yourself. Document check, any solicitor or notary work, the apostille, the embassy stage, and getting your original safely back to you – all one process, all handled for you.
What do you need from me to get started?
Just the document itself and a quick note on where it’s headed. Whether it’s a birth certificate, a marriage certificate attestation for Malaysia, or a stack of company paperwork, send it over and we’ll come back with your exact route and price, no charge just for asking.
